A bill for an act
relating to arts and cultural heritage; appropriating money to celebrate 50 years of
Southeast Asians in Minnesota.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF SOUTHEAST
ASIANS IN MINNESOTA.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the arts and cultural heritage fund to the
commissioner of administration for a grant to Visit Saint Paul to provide subgrants to
organizations representing Minnesota's Southeast Asian communities for events celebrating
the 50-year presence of Southeast Asian communities in this state. A subgrant under this
section may be made only to an organization that:

new text begin (1) provides a ten percent match for the subgrant; and

new text begin (2) will use the subgrant for events between May 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025. A
grant may be awarded to a subgrantee under this section to reimburse the subgrantee for
events occurring between May 1, 2025, and June 30, 2025.
