A bill for an act
relating to higher education; appropriating money for CentraCare residency
programs at Rice Memorial Hospital and St. Cloud Hospital.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATIONS; CENTRACARE RESIDENCY PROGRAMS.

new text begin $1,500,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $1,500,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of the Office of Higher Education for a grant to
CentraCare for residency programs and tracks based at CentraCare - Rice Memorial Hospital
and CentraCare - St. Cloud Hospital. This appropriation must be used for the costs of
establishing and operating new residency programs and tracks and maintaining existing
residency programs. Costs covered by this appropriation include but are not limited to
administration, curriculum development, resident recruitment, training, and resident stipends.
