Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45; 282.018, subdivision 1; or the
public sale provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282, Itasca County may sell by private
sale up to ten percent of the tax-forfeited land bordering public water that is located in the
county as of the effective date of this section under the remaining provisions of Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 282. The conveyance must be in a form approved by the attorney general.
This authority is in addition to any other authority conferred on the county to sell tax-forfeited
lands. The county has determined that the county's land management interests would best
be served if the land was returned to private ownership. This section expires June 30, 2027.
