relating to economic development; providing a grant to the city of Northrop;
requiring a report; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $230,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to the city of Northrop for costs
incurred by the city related to an elevator explosion and fire that occurred from December
28 to 30, 2017. The commissioner must provide a report regarding the use of grant funds
to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction
over workforce development. As a condition of receiving this grant, the city of Northrop
must provide the commissioner with all information needed to complete the report. The
report is due within 90 days after June 30, 2026.
