A bill for an act
relating to workforce development; prioritizing high-wage, high-demand careers
in awarding competitive grants; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section
116J.035, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 116J.035, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin The commissioner shall give priority to programs or
organizations that focus job training in high-wage, high-demand careers when awarding
competitive grants to organizations for the purpose of providing job training. For purposes
of this subdivision, "high-wage, high-demand" has the meaning given in section 116L.99.
