A bill for an act
relating to health; eliminating fees for certified birth certificates for newborns;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 144.226, by adding a subdivision.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1.
Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 144.226, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

A parent of the subject of a birth
record shall not be charged any of the fees specified in this section for a certified birth record
if the subject of the birth record is less than a year old.
