A bill for an act
relating to education; requiring charter schools and charter school authorizers to
publish financial information; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, sections 124E.03,
by adding a subdivision; 124E.16, by adding subdivisions.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 124E.03, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

section 123B.10, subdivision 1, governing publishing of school budgets.

Sec. 2.

Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 124E.16, is amended by adding a subdivision to
read:

new text begin Publication of financial information; charter school; authorizer. new text end

new text begin A charter
school must submit its annual budget to the commissioner consistent with section 123B.10,
subdivision 1.

Sec. 3.

Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 124E.16, is amended by adding a subdivision to
read:

new text begin A charter school and an authorizer must publish annual state and
federal tax filings on their respective public websites.
