A bill for an act
relating to state government; expiring certain multimember agencies after two
years; requiring a report; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 15.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

A commission, task force, working group, advisory council or committee, or other
multimember agency, excluding licensing boards, expires within two years of the enactment
date of its enabling statute, unless another expiration date is specified in the group's enabling
statute.

By February 1, 2026, the Legislative Coordinating Commission must report to the chairs
and ranking minority members of the committees in the senate and the house of
representatives with jurisdiction over state government, listing all multimember agencies,
excluding licensing boards; identifying their enabling statutes; specifying the expiration
date of the group; listing the dates of the group's most recent three meetings; and describing
the group's duties and the work product of the group over the past year. The report should
make note of any groups that the Legislative Coordinating Commission determines are
redundant or unnecessary.
