A bill for an act
relating to veterans; appropriating money for a grant to Forgotten Heroes Ranges
and Retreat; requiring reports.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $50,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $50,000 in fiscal year
2027 are appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of veterans affairs for a
grant to Forgotten Heroes Ranges and Retreat, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, for
expenses related to retreats for veterans, including transportation and activities customized
for veterans.

new text begin By January 15 each year, the commissioner of veterans affairs must
report to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees with
jurisdiction over veterans regarding the uses of the grant in subdivision 1, including any
amounts used for administration of the grant. The report must be filed with the Legislative
Reference Library in compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 3.195. As a condition of
receiving the grant, Forgotten Heroes Ranges and Retreat must agree to provide the
commissioner any information needed to complete the report.
