A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for the redevelopment of vacant
GFW school district properties in the cities of Gibbon, Fairfax, and Winthrop.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; GFW SCHOOL DISTRICT VACANT PROPERTY
REDEVELOPMENT.

new text begin $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for one or more grants to the city of Gibbon,
the city of Fairfax, the city of Winthrop, or a combination of one or more of these cities to
predesign and design the redevelopment of properties formerly occupied by Independent
School District No. 2365, GFW, to repurpose the properties to meet the needs of the
communities in which the properties are located. This is a onetime appropriation and is
available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section
16A.642.
