A bill for an act
relating to agriculture; creating the State Agricultural Society public safety account
in the agricultural fund; instituting a 30 cent surcharge on State Agricultural Society
admission tickets; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter
37.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin A State Agricultural Society public
safety account is established in the agricultural fund. Money in the account, including
interest, is appropriated to the board of managers of the State Agricultural Society for grants
to the cities of Falcon Heights and St. Paul to provide:

new text begin (1) public safety services, such as police, fire, and emergency medical responses;
new text end

new text begin (2) public works expenses for traffic management and sanitation; and
new text end

new text begin (3) neighborhood cleanup and restoration efforts.

new text begin The board of managers of the State Agricultural Society shall charge a
supplementary 30 cent fee on each admission ticket. All fees collected under this section
shall be deposited in the state treasury and credited to the State Agricultural Society account
in the agricultural fund under this section.
