A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money to expand the Indigenous Roots
Cultural Center in the city of St. Paul.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; INDIGENOUS ROOTS CULTURAL ARTS CENTER
EXPANSION.

new text begin $2,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to Indigenous Roots, a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization, to acquire, design, renovate, furnish, and equip an adjacent property
to the existing Indigenous Roots Cultural Arts Center in the city of St. Paul to increase
programming capacity to incubate and support small businesses along the Intertribal Cultural
Corridor in the city of St. Paul and in surrounding communities. This appropriation is
onetime and is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota
Statutes, section 16A.642.
