A bill for an act
relating to environment; exempting certain zoos from fur farm requirements;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 97A.106, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 97A.106, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin This section does not apply to a zoo that:

new text begin (1) is a United States Department of Agriculture licensed exhibitor of regulated animals;
new text end

new text begin (2) houses animals owned by institutions accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium
Association; and
new text end

new text begin (3) participates in the American Zoo and Aquarium Association Species Survival Plan.
