A bill for an act
relating to agriculture; appropriating money to establish a meat and poultry
processing certification navigator.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin MEAT AND POULTRY PROCESSING CERTIFICATION NAVIGATOR;
APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $150,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of agriculture for a full-time certification navigator position. The position would support
meat and poultry processors in: (1) developing sanitation standard operating procedures,
hazard analysis, and critical control points plans; and (2) navigating the certification and
inspection process. This is a onetime appropriation.
