A bill for an act
relating to unemployment insurance; modifying the effect of Social Security
benefits on unemployment benefits during COVID-19 pandemic.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 268.085, subdivision 4, paragraph (b), the
requirement that 50 percent of the weekly equivalent of the primary Social Security old age
benefit be deducted from an applicant's weekly unemployment benefit amount is suspended
for applicants for unemployment insurance benefit accounts established between March 1,
2020, and December 31, 2020.
