A bill for an act
relating to local government; transportation; requiring temporary halt to public
transit in metropolitan area during a public health emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TEMPORARY HALT TO PUBLIC TRANSIT.

new text begin (a) The Metropolitan Council shall temporarily halt regular route transit, as defined
under Minnesota Statutes, section 473.385, subdivision 1, paragraph (b), in the metropolitan
transit area to curb the spread of the infectious disease known as COVID-19 during the
peacetime public health emergency.

new text begin (b) For purposes of this section, "peacetime public health emergency" means any
peacetime emergency declared by the governor in an executive order that relates to the
infectious disease known as COVID-19.
