relating to health; appropriating money for plan to monitor water quality at beaches.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin BEACH MONITORING PLAN; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2021 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
health to develop a plan, in cooperation with local units of government, for monitoring
water quality at public beaches and issuing public health notices and beach closures when
warranted. By January 15, 2021, the commissioner must submit the plan developed under
this section, including any policy and funding recommendations, to the chairs and ranking
minority members of the house of representatives and senate committees and divisions with
jurisdiction over health and environment and natural resources. This is a onetime
appropriation.
