A bill for an act
relating to game and fish; requiring use of nontoxic ammunition in special hunts
and commissioner-sponsored events; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 97B.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin (a) A person participating in a special hunt under section 97B.112, a shooting clinic
sponsored by the commissioner, or other commissioner-sponsored hunting or shooting event
must use nontoxic ammunition.

new text begin (b) The commissioner must list any events subject to the requirements of this section
on the Department of Natural Resources website before the event and notify a person
participating in a listed event of the requirement under paragraph (a).

new text begin (c) In this section, "nontoxic ammunition" means ammunition that contains no more
than a trace amount of lead.
