A bill for an act
 relating to economic development; appropriating money for the business
competitive grant program.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $1,925,000 in fiscal year 2020 and $1,925,000 in fiscal year 2021 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for the
business development competitive grant program. Of this amount, up to five percent is for
administration and monitoring of the business development competitive grant program. All
grant awards shall be for two consecutive years. Grants shall be awarded in fiscal year 2020.
