relating to housing; establishing a pilot program providing grants for housing
infrastructure; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; PILOT PROGRAM FOR HOUSING
INFRASTRUCTURE GRANTS.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2020 is appropriated from the general fund to the Housing Finance
Agency for a pilot program to provide grants to municipalities for up to 50 percent of the
costs of infrastructure that would otherwise be required to be paid by the developer for new
housing developments. The grants shall be limited to 16 housing units in the municipality
and a maximum of $10,000 per housing unit. This appropriation is onetime and available
until June 30, 2021.
