1.1A bill for an act 1.2relating to education finance; clarifying the calculation of general education aid; 1.3amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 126C.13, subdivision 4. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 126C.13, subdivision 4, is amended to read: 1.6    Subd. 4. General education aid. For fiscal year 2015 and later, A district's general 1.7education aid equals: 1.8(1) general education revenue, excluding operating capital revenue, equity revenue, local 1.9optional revenue, and transition revenue, minus the student achievement levy, multiplied 1.10times the ratio of the actual amount of student achievement levy levied to the permitted 1.11student achievement levy; plus 1.12(2) operating capital aid under section 126C.10, subdivision 13b; 1.13(3) equity aid under section 126C.10, subdivision 30; plus 1.14(4) transition aid under section 126C.10, subdivision 33; plus 1.15(5) shared time aid under section 126C.10, subdivision 7; plus 1.16(6) referendum aid under section 126C.17, subdivisions 7 and 7a; plus 1.17(7) online learning aid under section 124D.096; plus 1.18(8) local optional aid according to new text begin under new text end section 126C.10, subdivision 2d, paragraph 1.19(d). 1.20 new text begin EFFECTIVE DATE. new text end new text begin This section is effective for fiscal year 2019 and later. new text end
