A bill for an act
relating to public safety; appropriating money for grants to aid American Indian
offender reentry.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; AMERICAN INDIAN OFFENDER REENTRY.

$500,000 in fiscal year 2018 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of corrections for grants to organizations and tribes that provide offender reentry services
to American Indian men and women. The grants are contingent upon a match in an equal
amount from nonstate funds.
