A bill for an act
relating to economic development; appropriating money to the Asian Economic
Development Association.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; ASIAN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
ASSOCIATION.

new text begin $6,000,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to the Asian
Economic Development Association to relieve economic disparities in the Southeast Asian
community through workforce recruitment, development, job creation, and outreach. Any
amounts allocated for outreach shall go to community radio and television programs, and
other Southeast Asian organizations, including the Hmong American Leaders Council
of Minnesota and the Hmong 18 Council.
