A bill for an act
relating to economic development; appropriating money for a grant to the
YWCA of Minneapolis.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; YWCA OF MINNEAPOLIS.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated from the workforce development fund
to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to the YWCA
of Minneapolis to provide economically challenged individuals the jobs skills training,
career counseling, and job placement assistance necessary to secure a child development
associate credential and to have a career path in early childhood education. This amount is
added to the agency's base budget for this purpose.
