A bill for an act
relating to local government; authorizing statutory cities to set candidate filing fees
by ordinance; amending Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 205.13, subdivision 3.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 205.13, subdivision 3, is amended to read:


Subd. 3.

Filing fees.

new text end city provides the amount of the fee for filing an application or affidavit
of candidacy for city office, the filing fee for a municipal office is as follows:

(a) in first class cities, $20;

(b) in second and third class cities, $5; and

(c) in fourth class cities and towns, $2.
