1E Providing for long-term care workforce needs; expanding the health professional education loan forgiveness program and modifying the nurse obligation; establishing the home and community-based services employee scholarship program; modifying medical assistance (MA) nursing facility employee scholarship benefits; including career ladder rate adjustments in MA nursing home external fixed costs; requiring the commissioner of human services to make available rate adjustments for nursing facilities to implement career ladder wage increases for participants of leadership or apprenticeship programs; appropriating money to the commissioner of employment and economic development (DEED) for a grant program for advancement of long-term care careers and for a long-term care study and to address the shortage of paid caregivers in senior care settings through the Minnesota workforce centers, to the commissioner of health for the nurse loan forgiveness program and the home and community-based scholarship program and to the commissioner of human services for the career ladder rate adjustment
