relating to capital investment; appropriating money for elevator code compliance
in historic buildings.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin HISTORIC BUILDINGS; ELEVATOR CODE COMPLIANCE.

new text begin $5,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Minnesota Historical Society
to make grants for capital improvements in historic buildings to bring elevators into
compliance with code requirements under Minnesota Rules, chapter 1307. For purposes
of this section, a "historic building" is a structure that is recognized under the national or
state register of historic places. This appropriation is available until a project is completed
or abandoned subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
