1.1A bill for an act 1.2relating to transportation; requiring the commissioner of transportation to adopt a 1.3cost-share policy. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5    Section 1. new text begin COST-SHARE POLICY. new text end 1.6 new text begin The commissioner of transportation, in consultation with representatives of local new text end 1.7 new text begin units of government, shall create and adopt a policy concerning cost participation new text end 1.8 new text begin for cooperative construction projects and maintenance responsibilities between the new text end 1.9 new text begin Department of Transportation and local units of government. The policy must minimize new text end 1.10 new text begin the share of cooperative project costs to be funded by the local units of government, new text end 1.11 new text begin while complying in all respects with the state constitutional requirements concerning new text end 1.12 new text begin allowable uses of the trunk highway fund.
