A bill for an act
relating to financing and operations of state government; appropriating money
for Minnesota history preservation and access activities.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin MINNESOTA HISTORICAL SOCIETY APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $22,690,000 in fiscal year 2016 and $23,430,000 in fiscal year 2017 are appropriated
from the general fund to the Minnesota Historical Society for programs and operations for
the Minnesota Historical Society, for the following purposes:

new text begin (1) $430,000 the first year and $870,000 the second year to provide capacity to
continue to deliver history programs and services across Minnesota;

new text begin (2) $600,000 the first year and $900,000 the second year for digital preservation
and access, including planning and implementation of a program to preserve and make
available resources related to Minnesota history; and

new text begin (3) $325,000 the first year and $325,000 the second year for activities to enhance
educational achievement through history education.
