A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for the Norway House in
Minneapolis.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin NORWAY HOUSE; MINNEAPOLIS.

new text begin $5,000,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2016 from the general fund to the
commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to the Norway
House to acquire land and predesign, design, construct, furnish, and equip a conference
and event center at 913 East Franklin Avenue and adjacent property in Minneapolis to
celebrate the culture of Norway and American Norwegians. This appropriation is onetime
and does not cancel. This appropriation is not available until at least an equal amount is
committed from nonstate sources.
