ARTICLE 1 - PUBLIC INTEGRITY

Establishing the Minnesota public integrity law; specifying application to public officials and local officials of metropolitan governmental units; establishing a statement of findings and intent; defining conflict of interest; establishing certain prohibitions for public officials; providing for financial interests; require disclosure of conflicts of interest; establishing disclosure of financial interest filing requirements for elective office, requiring a statement of financial interests; requiring review and recertification of filed financial statement requirements, specifying method of filing; specifying certain requirements for appointments requiring confirmation by a body of the legislature; specifying requirements associated with place of filing, late filing, failure to file and certain penalties; establishing a notice for board members required to disclose financial interests; requiring each metropolitan government to identify its local officials; authorizing the use of substitute officials in certain situations; requiring the data classification of the statements of financial interests; repealing the definition of associated business; repealing provisions related to statements of economic interest filing requirements; repealing certain campaign finance and public disclosure board rules relating to securities, determination of local or public official status, certain definitions, the definition of real property and certain filing provisions
