A bill for an act
relating to hospitals; prohibiting transfer of the University of Minnesota
Hospitals to a non-Minnesota entity.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA HOSPITALS; PROHIBITING
TRANSFER TO FOREIGN CORPORATION.

new text begin No entity exercising ownership of the University of Minnesota Hospitals may
convey, assign, or otherwise transfer ownership of the hospitals, or their related assets,
in whole or in part, to a foreign corporation, partnership, or entity. This prohibition
includes a transfer of ownership resulting from corporate acquisition by a foreign entity, or
a merger or consolidation with a foreign business entity.
