A bill for an act
relating to health; transfer of control of certain hospitals licensed in the state
to out-of-state entities.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin RETURN OF CHARITABLE ASSETS.

new text begin If a hospital system organized as a charitable institution, which includes the
University of Minnesota Medical Center, sells or transfers control to an out-of-state
nonprofit entity or any for-profit entity, any charitable assets the hospital system has
received from the state must be returned to the general fund.
