A bill for an act
 relating to arts and cultural heritage; appropriating money for arts education
best practices networks.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin PERPICH CENTER FOR THE ARTS.

new text begin $1,250,000 in 2011 and $1,250,000 in 2012 are appropriated from the arts and
cultural heritage fund to the Perpich Center for Arts Education to develop and implement
regional best practices networks to integrate and embed arts education into all curriculum
areas and improve student achievement in Minnesota schools. The network should include
professional staff development, curriculum development, and Web site development. The
network should be designed to serve teachers, teaching artists, and school administrators.
