A bill for an act
relating to public safety; prohibiting the State Patrol from closing or consolidating
dispatch centers.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin STATE PATROL DISPATCH CENTERS.

new text begin (a) The commissioner of public safety may not close or consolidate State Patrol
dispatch centers that were in operation on February 1, 2011.

new text begin (b) By December 1, 2011, the commissioner of public safety shall submit a report to
the legislature that identifies and explains the current State Patrol dispatch center system
and any proposed changes to the system.

new text begin (c) This section expires August 1, 2012.
