A bill for an act
 relating to the University of Minnesota; limiting the number of former legislators
on the Board of Regents; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 137.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

LIMITATION.

new text begin No more than one former Minnesota state legislator may serve on the Board of
Regents at the same time.

new text begin This section is effective the day following final enactment;
however, any member of the Board of Regents who is a former Minnesota state legislator
may serve the remainder of the member's current term on the Board of Regents.
