1.1A bill for an act 1.2relating to disaster relief; amending Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 12A.07, 1.3subdivision 2. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 12A.07, subdivision 2, is amended to read: 1.6    Subd. 2. Assistance. Criteria and requirements must be locally established with 1.7the approval of the commissioner. Local plans must specify the type of assistance to 1.8be provided to eligible organizations. Within the limits of the available grant amounts, 1.9assistance may be provided as loans with or without interest and as forgivable loans. The 1.10criteria must, at a minimum, specify that an organization receiving a forgivable loan must 1.11remain in the local community a minimum of ten years after the date of the loan. Loans 1.12made under this section must not be used to refinance debt that existed on the date of the 1.13disaster.
