A bill for an act
 relating to the judiciary; providing for senate confirmation of the executive
secretary of the Board on Judicial Standards; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008,
section 490A.01, subdivision 5.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 490A.01, subdivision 5, is amended to
read:


Subd. 5.

Executive secretary appointment; salary.

(a) The board shall appoint the
executive secretarynew text begin of the board with the advice and consent of the senate. Section 15.066
applies to confirmation of the appointmentnew text end .

(b) The salary of the executive secretary of the board is 85 percent of the maximum
salary provided for an administrative law judge under section 15A.083, subdivision 6a.

Sec. 2. new text begin EFFECTIVE DATE; APPLICATION.

secretary currently in the position or appointed on or after that date.
