ARTICLE 1 - UNIFORM ARBITRATION ACT
Adopting the "Uniform Arbitration Act"; defining certain terms and specifying the application of the provisions; providing for notice; regulating effect of agreement to arbitrate and nonwaivable provisions; requiring application to court under certain conditions; specifying validity of agreement to arbitrate, exception; providing for motion to compel or stay arbitration, provisional remedies, initiation of arbitration, consolidation of separate arbitration proceedings, appointment of arbitrator and service as a neutral arbitrator, disclosure requirements, and action by majority; providing for immunity of arbitrator, competency to testify and attorney fees and costs; providing for arbitration process requirements, representation by lawyer, attendance of witnesses, subpoenas, depositions and discovery; providing for court enforcement of pre-award ruling by arbitrator, award process requirements, change of award by arbitrator under certain conditions, awarding of remedies, fees and expenses of arbitration proceedings, confirmation of award authority, vacating of an award by court under certain conditions, award modifications or corrections, court judgment on award, attorney fees and litigation expenses, jurisdiction, appeals authority and venue requirements; providing for uniformity of application and construction, specifying certain requirements for conflicts with the no-fault automobile insurance act and prevailing law; savings clause; providing for uniformity of application and construction and for the relationship to the federal electronic signatures in global and national commerce act; savings clause; repealing certain previous arbitration provisions

Making conforming amendments to certain statutory provisions relating to motor fuel franchise agreements, teacher hearings and determinations, mediation of labor disputes and relations, sales representative agreement termination actions, new motor vehicle warranties alternative dispute settlement mechanisms, economic development arbitration of disputes over county costs and municipal comprehensive planning dispute resolutions
