ARTICLE 1 - MASSAGE THERAPY
Establishing licensure requirements for massage therapists; defining certain terms; providing standards for license display and title use; providing for other health care providers and complementary and alternative health practitioners; defining the scope of practice and certain practice prohibitions, imposing penalties; regulating general licensure requirements including eligibility requirements, licensure prohibitions, endorsements, grandfathering, expiration, renewals, change of address and license renewal notification requirements, renewal deadlines,inactive status and return to active status, licensure following lapse of licensure status for two years or less, cancellation due to nonrenewal, cancellation of license in good standing and temporary permits; requiring a person, institution or school offering a massage therapy program of instruction to file a completed application for approval of program by the board, specifying certain application and fee requirements; establishing the state board of massage therapy, specifying certain membership requirements, powers and duties, specifying certain disciplinary hearing disclosure requirements; specifying duties of the board relating to application for licensure and for school program approval; specifying licensed massage therapist continuing education requirements; imposing board disciplinary actions under certain conditions; requiring the board to report violations necessary to protect the public, providing immunity from civil liability for providing information in good faith to the board; regulating effect on municipal ordinances; imposing certain licensure fees
