1.1A bill for an act 1.2relating to transportation; restricting transportation on and near the Stillwater 1.3Lift Bridge. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5    Section 1. new text begin PROHIBITION OF TRUCKS ON STILLWATER LIFT BRIDGE.new text end 1.6new text begin (a) For purposes of this section, "total length" means the overall length of the motor new text end 1.7new text begin vehicle including (1) bumpers and load, and (2) the length of any semitrailer, as defined new text end 1.8new text begin in Minnesota Statutes, section 168.002, subdivision 30, and any trailer, as defined in new text end 1.9new text begin Minnesota Statutes, section 168.002, subdivision 35.new text end 1.10new text begin (b) The commissioner of transportation shall prohibit the operation of motor vehicles new text end 1.11new text begin that exceed a total length of 55 feet on that portion of marked Trunk Highway 36 from the new text end 1.12new text begin intersection with marked Trunk Highway 95 and Washington County State-Aid Highway new text end 1.13new text begin 23 in Stillwater, to the Stillwater Lift Bridge, located on marked Trunk Highway 36 over new text end 1.14new text begin the St. Croix River in Stillwater.
