A bill for an act
relating to public safety; appropriating money for grants for disaster readiness
and recovery efforts.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $75,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010, and $75,000 for the fiscal year
ending June 30, 2011, are appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
public safety for a grant to a not-for-profit disaster response organization for disaster
readiness and long-term recovery efforts. The grant recipient must be equipped to provide
statewide services, volunteer management for rebuilding in the wake of a disaster, and
long-term recovery case management in coordination with the affected communities.
