A bill for an act
 relating to data practices; providing for the protection of certain data relating to
reports of the state auditor; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 6.715, by
adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 6.715, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin If, before releasing a report, the state
auditor provides a person with data relating to the audit for the purpose of review and
verification of the data, the person must protect the data from unlawful disclosure or be
subject to the penalties and liabilities provided in sections 13.08 and 13.09.
