ARTICLE 1 - CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT

Proposing an amendment to the Minnesota constitution, article VI, sections 7 and 8, requiring a commission on judicial selection to nominate candidates for appointment to judgeships and a commission of judicial evaluation to evaluate judges for reappointment

ARTICLE 2 - JUDICIAL SELECTION

Establishing and modifying procedures for filling judicial vacancies; defining judge and judgeship; specifying certain duties of the commission on judicial selection to nominate candidates for appointment to judgeships; establishing the commission on judicial evaluation to evaluate judges for reappointment according to certain established criteria developed and published by the commission, specifying certain membership requirements and duties; subjecting the committee to the open meeting law; requiring commission implementation of rules; specifying certain reference change instructions to the revisor of statutes, requiring a revisor report on the changes to the legislature; repealing certain election provisions relating to judicial candidate designation on form, notice of judicial election, ballot forms for judicial candidates and designation of incumbent, nonpartisan offices uncontested judicial offices and court of appeals selection of judges and elections
