relating to education; providing an alternative school start date in 2009 and 2010.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. new text begin ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL START DATE.

Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 120A.40, paragraph (a), a district may
commence an elementary or secondary school year on or after August 31 in the 2009-2010
school year and on or after August 30 in the 2010-2011 school year.
