1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.7 new text begin (a) The commissioner of transportation shall submit a report to the chairs and new text end
1.8new text begin ranking minority members of the senate and house committees with jurisdiction over new text end
1.9new text begin transportation policy and finance and over economic development policy and finance that new text end
1.10new text begin proposes a model public information program targeted at small businesses as defined in new text end
1.11new text begin Minnesota Statutes, section 645.445, subdivision 2, that are impacted by transportation new text end
1.12new text begin construction projects.new text end
1.13 new text begin (b) The report must include, but not be limited to:new text end
1.14 new text begin (1) identification of methods and techniques for informing small businesses about new text end
1.15new text begin upcoming transportation construction projects;new text end
1.16 new text begin (2) a description of components of an information packet for businesses, which new text end
1.17new text begin includes:new text end
1.18 new text begin (i) the nature, extent, and timing of planned construction, including anticipated new text end
1.19new text begin changes in parking, traffic, and public access in the area;new text end
1.20 new text begin (ii) identification of a contact within the appropriate road authority that can provide new text end
1.21new text begin information about construction progress and timing; andnew text end
1.22 new text begin (iii) a listing of area business development organizations that can assistant businesses new text end
1.23new text begin with financing, marketing, and technical counseling during the construction period; andnew text end
2.1 new text begin (3) recommendations for opportunities to provide further assistance to small new text end
2.2new text begin businesses impacted by transportation construction projects.new text end
2.3 new text begin (c) In preparing the report, the commissioner shall consult with the commissioner of new text end
2.4new text begin employment and economic development, the Metropolitan Council, counties, cities, and new text end
2.5new text begin community organizations, including a metropolitan consortium of community developers new text end
2.6new text begin and local chambers of commerce.new text end
2.7 new text begin (d) The commissioner of transportation shall submit the report no later than March new text end
