A bill for an act
relating to human services; allowing certain home modifications to be allowed
expenses for the home and community-based waiver programs.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. new text begin HOME MODIFICATIONS.

Effective upon federal approval, the costs associated with home modifications that
add to the square footage of a private residence when necessary to complete a modification
to configure a bathroom to accommodate a wheelchair must be allowed expenses for the
home and community-based waiver services for persons with disabilities.

The commissioner of human services shall submit an amendment to the Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services consistent with section 1 by October 1, 2008.
