A bill for an act
relating to data practices; permitting data sharing between the Department of
Education and the Minnesota Office of Higher Education; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2006, section 13.32, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 13.32, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin Educational data may be shared
by and between the Department of Education and the Minnesota Office of Higher
Education as authorized by the Code of Federal Regulations, title 34, section 99.31(a)(6),
to analyze instruction in school districts for purposes of improvement.
