1.1A bill for an act 1.2relating to business organizations; waiver of reinstatement fee after certain 1.3dissolution of an entity when a principal of the entity is a returning combat 1.4veteran;proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 5. 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6    Section 1. new text begin [5.33] RETURNING COMBAT VETERANS. new text end 1.7     new text begin If any Minnesota business or nonprofit corporation, limited liability company, new text end 1.8 new text begin cooperative, limited partnership, or limited liability partnership has been administratively new text end 1.9 new text begin or statutorily dissolved, revoked, or terminated for failure to file an annual or periodic new text end 1.10 new text begin report with the Office of the Secretary of State during a calendar year when an individual new text end 1.11 new text begin with substantial responsibility for the operation of the dissolved, revoked, or terminated new text end 1.12 new text begin business or nonprofit corporation, limited liability company, cooperative, limited new text end 1.13 new text begin partnership, or limited liability partnership was serving in active military service in the new text end 1.14 new text begin armed forces of the United States, including the reserves or National Guard, as defined in new text end 1.15 new text begin section 190.05, subdivision 5b or 5c, or was engaged in employment outside of the United new text end 1.16 new text begin States essential to the prosecution of a war or to the national defense, as designated by the new text end 1.17 new text begin United States Congress or the United States Department of Defense, the secretary of state new text end 1.18 new text begin shall waive any reinstatement fee otherwise required by law. new text end 1.19    Sec. 2. new text begin EFFECTIVE DATE. new text end 1.20 new text begin Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment. new text end
