A bill for an act
relating to public safety; expanding eligibility of persons with relevant military
experience to take the peace officer licensing reciprocity examination; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 626.8517.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1.
Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 626.8517, is amended to read:
626.8517 ELIGIBILITY FOR RECIPROCITY EXAMINATION BASED ON
RELEVANT MILITARY EXPERIENCE.
(a) For purposes of this section, "relevant military experience" means five years of

(b) A person who has relevant military experience and who has been honorably
discharged from the military is eligible to take the reciprocity examination.
